Tournevia

Frequently asked questions

Short answers about addresses, examples, depots, tolls, coverage, limits, language, passwords, route sheets and export.

Does Tournevia look up addresses?

Yes, when address search is on. If your installation has its own address service (the Base Adresse Nationale hosted by the operator), it is always used and addresses never leave the installation. Otherwise address search stays off until an administrator turns on IGN’s free service (Géoplateforme) in Settings › Address search. The page says what is sent before you turn it on: the address text and the depot’s position.

With address search, typing a Delivery address or a depot address suggests French addresses, nearest to the depot first; choosing one fills in the address and places the pin. CSV import also proposes a point for rows without coordinates.

A proposed point is at the building, not necessarily at the vehicle entrance. A calculation needs a reviewed entrance for each delivery, for the main depot and for every place where a vehicle starts or ends. Without address search, place the pin on the entrance with Pick on map, or type the coordinates under Enter coordinates, then review the point. See Deliveries and coordinates.

Can I try Tournevia without my own data?

Yes. An administrator chooses Try with example deliveries in the setup guide, or Add example deliveries in Settings › Example data. Tournevia adds ten fictional deliveries in Paris for the chosen day, with two example vehicles and an example depot, all marked Example, in your company’s own workspace.

Examples are planned only with other examples. Their route sheets and CSV file say “Example data, not for driving.”: these are not routes to drive. Remove example data deletes, after you confirm, every example depot, vehicle and delivery with the plans of example vehicles; your own records stay. See Getting started.

Can I have several depots?

Yes. In Settings › Depots and places, an administrator keeps several depots and other places, such as a driver’s home; one of them is the main depot. Each vehicle leaves loaded from its Starts at (the main depot by default) and ends at Ends at. A delivery whose Ships from names a depot goes only on a vehicle that starts there. See Calculate, edit and export.

Can I save a customer once?

Yes. Customers lists saved customers with their address, entrance and usual hours. Choosing a customer in a delivery’s Customer field takes its address and entrance; an entrance that is already reviewed does not need reviewing again. An import row can also name a customer in the customer column. See Deliveries and coordinates and CSV formats.

Can I import a corrected file again?

Yes. The preview marks each row New, Changed (with what it changes) or Unchanged, and nothing is saved before Import deliveries or Import vehicles. A changed delivery without coordinates keeps its reviewed point; a changed vehicle keeps its days off. See CSV formats.

How do I cancel or delete a delivery?

In Deliveries, select them, choose Cancel deliveries or Delete deliveries, and confirm. A cancelled delivery stays in the list, inactive, and is not planned; Restore brings it back. A deleted delivery is gone for good; a delivery’s editor also offers Delete delivery. Deleting is refused while a waiting or running calculation uses the delivery. Saved plans keep their own copy and ask for a fresh calculation.

Can it avoid tolls?

Prefer no tolls and Prefer no motorways are routing preferences, not guaranteed exclusions. Modeled costs exclude tolls, and every export and route sheet carries the notice “Planning estimate. Verify current road access and driver requirements. Tolls are not included.”

Does the plan leave room for delays?

Yes. Each new calculation plans every delivery to start at least the company’s safety margin before its window ends: 15 min by default, set by an administrator from 0 to 120 min in Settings › Calculation. When the roads allow less, the stop keeps a smaller margin, and a delivery reachable only in its last minutes may stay unassigned. Each stop shows its Margin, marked with a clock at 10 min or less. Times are estimates without live traffic. See Calculate, edit and export.

Which area does it cover?

Calculations use the road graph your installation operator built: either Île-de-France, where the tests and benchmarks run, or all of metropolitan France. The France graph has passed routing checks in several cities and a Lyon planning day, but no timing or quality benchmark outside Île-de-France. A delivery outside the graph cannot be routed. Ask your operator which area your installation covers, and see installation.

Can I plan with a single van?

Yes. A calculation needs at least one active vehicle that works that day and one delivery. The entrances of the main depot, of the deliveries and of every place where the vehicle starts or ends must be reviewed.

What are the limits of one calculation?

Up to 25 vehicles, 250 deliveries, three distinct truck profiles (combinations of dimensions, weights and axles) and 301 distinct points, depots and places included. All its places — the main depot, where vehicles start and end, and the deliveries — must lie within 200 km of each other by default. A company can have five calculations waiting or running at the same time.

How do I plan another day?

Change the date at the top. Deliveries belong to their date. Vehicles have weekly hours and days off: a calculation uses each vehicle’s hours for its day, without moving anything. When selected or active vehicles do not work that day, Planning and Fleet name them with the reason. See Prepare vehicles.

How do I give drivers their routes?

Mark the plan Ready, then choose Print the route sheets: one A4 page per vehicle, with its stops in order, times, load and Google Maps and Waze links to each reviewed entrance. Print them, or save them as PDF from the print dialog: the links stay clickable. Google Maps and Waze choose their own path, which may not suit the truck. See Print the route sheets.

How do I change the language?

Open Settings → Personal preferences, choose the Interface language, then Save language. The language is saved to your account and used on all your devices. Before signing in, the sign-in page has its own language choice.

Is there a dark mode?

Yes. The sun/moon button in the top bar, and on the sign-in page, switches between the light and dark themes. In Settings → Personal preferences → Appearance, you can also choose Match this device, Light or Dark. The choice is saved in this browser only, and the map keeps its light style.

Can I use Tournevia on a phone?

Yes, the interface adapts to a small screen. On a phone, every editor opens full screen, Planning switches between List and Map, and a route sheet reads as one card per stop.

I forgot my password. What now?

Ask an administrator. In Settings → Users, they choose Edit user, enter a password in New password for …, then Set password for …. Your sessions end, and you sign in with the new password. An administrator who cannot sign in needs another administrator or the installation operator.

To change a password you know, open Settings → Personal preferences → Change password, then enter the current password and a new one of at least 15 characters. Your other signed-in devices are signed out.

Why is a delivery unassigned?

The plan shows the reason next to each unassigned delivery: no compatible vehicle (capacity, equipment, or no vehicle starts at the depot it ships from), no usable road near the pin, no route in the road data, no room within windows (less the safety margin), capacities, hours or route limits, or a manual removal. See the reasons and what to do.

Why are route sheets or export refused?

Only the current Ready plan has route sheets and an export. Mark it ready after a passing calculation; accept a partial plan explicitly; start a new calculation if deliveries, vehicles, the main depot or a depot or place in use changed since; and resolve another Ready plan that covers the same work. A plan of examples can be marked Ready, but it is not for driving. The exact messages are in Messages and what to do, and the file content in CSV formats.
